The Yeti, often referred to as the "Abominable Snowman," is a legendary creature deeply rooted in Himalayan folklore. It is described as a large, ape-like being covered in fur, believed to inhabit remote and snowy regions of the mountains. Among local communities like the Sherpas, the Yeti is not just a myth – it represents a guardian of nature and the mountains, bridging the spiritual and physical realms. In stories, it often appears as a protector of sacred places and a symbol of the connection between humans and the wilderness.

A jacket with a special focus on layered ruffles and fur, creating a sense of volume and natural movement. The ruffles represent snow drifts, while the fur reflects the texture of a thick, protective cover reminiscent of the Yeti's fur. The jacket is designed to be highly structural, emphasizing the dynamics of the materials and the layered fabric that simulates natural forms.

TAMARA

Visual from movie The Ring, copyright by Paramount Pictures

The Tamara jacket is inspired by the iconic character from the horror film The Ring, known as Samara Morgan, but with an additional interpretation based on the fear of irregular patterns of holes – trypophobia.

The project merges an atmosphere of unease and discomfort with deeper, more intuitive fears, utilizing texture, design, and procedural materials. The aim was to visually represent phobic elements, infusing psychological depth into the interpretation.

Close 3D is used for the jacket's base construction, where the design incorporates perforated elements to create an effect that evokes trypophobic discomfort. The holes are strategically placed to induce unease, while the volumes and layers of material form a space that allows for the integration of hair.

Blender: The jacket was textured using procedural materials that simulate the texture of skin, creating an organic feel. Long, dark strands of hair, procedurally generated, flow down the jacket.
